Allegation of Research Misconduct and Conflict of Interest

Allegation of Research Misconduct

Jurnal Perikanan takes all allegations of breaches of research and publication integrity seriously, whether they concern manuscripts under editorial consideration or articles that have already been published.

Research misconduct may include data fabrication, falsification or manipulation of research findings, plagiarism, image manipulation, unauthorized use of data, violations of research ethics, undisclosed conflicts of interest, and other practices that may undermine the reliability or integrity of a publication.

Every allegation will first be examined by the Editor objectively and confidentially. The Editor may request explanations, raw data, ethics documentation, research evidence, or other supporting information from the authors.

Authors will be given a reasonable opportunity to respond. If misconduct is substantiated, the journal may take action, including terminating the review process, rejecting the manuscript, correcting the article, retracting the publication, or contacting the relevant institution when necessary.

Decisions will be based on the available evidence and the principles of fairness, transparency, and integrity in scholarly publishing.

Conflict of Interest

Everyone involved in the publication of Jurnal Perikanan must avoid circumstances that could call the independence and objectivity of the publication process into question.

Authors must disclose financial, professional, institutional, personal, or other interests and relationships that could be perceived as influencing the conduct of the research or the interpretation of the reported findings.

Reviewers must inform the Editor of any relationship or interest that could compromise their independence when assessing a manuscript. Under such circumstances, reviewers may be excused from the review process.

Editors must not handle manuscripts when they have conflicts of interest relevant to the authors, institutions, or research being reported.

Declarations of conflicts of interest must be made transparently. Where no conflict exists, authors may state: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”
