Abstract

Microalgae Chaetoceros amami form of microalgae that used as vanamei shrimp live feed (Litopenaeus vannamei) because has a high nutritional content. Microalgae culture need a supporting factors to help a growing process. That factors like a temperature, light intensity, CO2, and nutrient. The problem that often arise in microalgae culture like an algae population whose that growth are unstable cause uantity of Chaetoceros that not same in every culture period. This is due to supporting factors less than optimal like less of nutrient of growth media. Vannamei shrimp contains 77% nitrogen and 85% phosphor that can used to microalgae growth. The research purpose to assess utilization waste vanamei shrimp farming (Litopenaeus vanamei) as a media cultur Chaetoceros amami. This research was done in microalgae PT. Central Proteina Prima Lampung Selatan Kalianda. The design of the research is completed random design that consists three treatments and three repetitions, design A (control) used walne fertilizer, design B used 25% shrimp vannamei waste and design C used 50% vannamei shrimp. Result of DuncanĀ  test (p>0,05) showed that peak phase during culture Chaetoceros amami in media of water vannamei shrimp farming is different, the conclusion of this research is waste vannamei shrimp farming as many (50/50) waste could replace synthetic fertilizer (walne) as media Chaetoceros amami culture in laboratory scale culture.
